James Piper

A born problem-solver, James Piper found his calling as a mortgage originator. "It's who I am. It's what I do,"he emphasizes. "This is my career and I'm here for the long haul - not just the good times. Each mortgage involves countless details and includes a number of different parties. I consider it my responsibility to stay ahead of the process so I can assure my customers an enjoyable experience,"James adds. After entering the mortgage business in 2001, James founded 5 Star Funding in 2003. He later sold the company to Texas One Credit Union and serves as President and Secretary of the Board of the company known as Southern Funding Alliance. James points out, "We are a credit union service organization and we changed the name of our company because we feel it better defines our mission."He goes on to say, "One area in which I've succeeded is in building alliances with business partners. Based on referrals, these unique relationships allow me to create more business and set Southern Funding Alliance apart from other mortgage companies."He is proud that since 2001 he's funded approximately $200,000,000 in mortgage loans. His personal life revolves around his religion, his family and fishing. James' family consists of his wife, Stacy, son Jackson, and his dog, Cooper. "When I'm not working, I'm with my family,"said James. And this lifelong Houstonian loves to talk about bass fishing. He smiles when he says, "You know, there's nothing like a tight line."
